Shaw was scheduled to spend the remainder of the campaign with the Coasters, but was recalled in January following the season suspension from the National League North.

The winger had previously played a key role for Jim Bentley’s side, helping them advance to the play-offs, scoring twice in 19 appearances.

Returning to Bloomfield Road, Shaw made his league debut for Blackpool at the end of February, coming off the bench in the 3-0 win over Charlton Athletic.

Shaw, a Blackpool Academy product, impressed under Critchley during the preseason but was left out of Blackpool squads early in the campaign.

He did, however, start Blackpool’s EFL Trophy goalless draw against Barrow in early September.

Shaw made his Blackpool debut last season in the 5-1 EFL Trophy victory over Morecambe, before making another appearance in the competition.
