King’s Lynn Town made a double loan transfer, with former Norwich City and German Bundesliga player Simeon Jackson being one of two newcomers.

Jackson – the former Canaries, Gillingham and Coventry forward – has agreed to help the club after reuniting with Ian Culverhouse.

Jackson, 33, is joined by Alfie Payne, 21, who was on loan at The Walks last season before his contract at Carrow Road expired.

President Stephen Cleeve has put a number of Lynn’s first-team members on leave and both players will ease the club’s selection concerns as they continue to face the financial implications of the clubs voting for the pursuit of the National League.

Bolton defender Jak Hickman was recently loaned out and the two loan signings come as Lynn works to keep a team together that can end a tumultuous National League campaign.

Director of Football Rob Back said on his club’s website: “We are delighted to welcome Simeon to the club.

“He has Premier League and Bundesliga experience and we are very grateful to have his services for the rest of the season.”

“We are delighted to welcome Alfie back to The Walks. He played a big role last season in helping us get promoted to the National League and we look forward to seeing him at the club for the rest of the season.

Jackson recently signed for Chelmsford City only to bring the Southern National League season to a quick end due to the Covid-19 pandemic

Culverhouse knows all about the frontman when he was Paul Lambert’s assistant manager in the Canaries.

The forward scored the goal in Portsmouth which saw City win the Premier League in 2011, before leaving to join German club Eintracht Braunschweig in the Bundesliga.

Norwich-based Payne is on loan from Lowestoft Town after the Southern League campaign was declared null and void earlier this year.

His previous stint at The Walks saw him make 25 appearances, where he found the back of the net three times.
