It’s officially Prize Fest season here in Shreveport now that all of the Prize category finalists have been officially announced.

Over the past two weeks, the Prize Foundation has announced the finalists for the Film, Food, Fashion, Music and Comedy awards and we’ve got them all here for you in case you missed it. .

Cinema Awards

The prize that started it all is back and it’s time to find out which movies are heading to the big screen finale to fight for the trophy and the grand prize of $50,000.

Filmmakers from around the world are invited to participate in the film prize, but only those shot in Caddo Parish will be eligible for the full $50,000 prize. A panel of mentor judges and the Prize Fest audience will vote to choose the grand prize winner in October.

A national selection committee looked at and reviewed the 147 applications and selected the 20 films that will participate in the Film Prize 2022:

Louisiana Food Prize's Come and Get It!  The dining experience took place on Friday evening October 1, 2021.

Food Prize pits the talented chefs of Shreveport against each other to win the coveted Golden Fork prize.

For months, elaborate dinner parties were held for members of the Golden Fork Society so that the chosen chefs could show off their culinary skills. Each week, each chef presents a multi-course dinner and is judged and rated by members of the society.

Now it’s time to discover the seven chefs who qualified for the final round and who will participate in the Come and Get It food and wine experience at Prize Fest in October.

In addition to revealing the finalists, Prize Foundation Founder and Executive Director Gregory Kallenberg and Brannan announced new additions to the Food Prize this year.

First there will be the Golden Spork competition where local food trucks will compete alongside the Music Prize for the public vote.

Then there will be the first-ever Food Prize University where the community will have a collective conversation about food culture here with Food Prize chefs and judges.

Finally, there will be a People’s Choice Award for Fan Favorite Chef at the Food Prize, as well as the Golden Shaker Award for Fan Favorite Cocktail of the Night.

Fashion designs by Donna Strebeck who won the 2019 Louisiana Fashion Prize.

The Fashion Prize is a fashion design competition that encourages designers to create a unique collection for an independent selection committee to decide on the finalists.

The final five will participate in Prize Fest in October for the chance to show off their creations to a nationally renowned panel of judges and a live audience and win $5,000.

The five creators who will make it to the Prize Fest are:

Louisiana Music Awards

More than just a music festival, Music Prize is a festival of competition and discovery with a music conference designed to elevate musicians so they can make their musical side a full-time career.

Musicians submitted a video performance and online voters determined five bands while five bands are chosen by a selection committee of music industry professionals to go on to compete for the Music Prize.

The 11 groups competing for the 2022 Music Prize are:

  • Aname’ Rose – Baton Rouge (Spotify Hits)
  • American Hotel System – Michigan (back)
  • Allisen and the Wys Guys – Austin (Jam Band)
  • Neon Highway – East Texas (Startup Country Band)

  • Chamber of Stars – Shreveport (Returning Champions)
  • Ricky Latt & Ouro Boar – Shreveport (Returning Champions, R&B Local Mashup)
  • Shelly Knicks and the Love Space Connection – Austin
  • Octavia the Great – Virginia (Hip Hop)
  • Rococo Disco – Austin (Spotify Hits)

The finalists will perform live in Shreveport on October 14-15 for the grand prize of $10,000 cash. Second place will win $2,000, third place will win $1,000, and all groups will be paid for their performances in the finals.

Comedy Award

Louisiana Food Prize Fest 2021 Event: Back in the Streets!  was held Friday night, October 1, 2021 on Texas Street in downtown Shreveport.

Making audiences laugh is no easy task and Comedy Prize pits seven comedians against each other for a chance to win a cash prize of $2,500. Comedians from across the country were invited to submit a 2-3 minute clip of an original set in front of a live audience and a selection committee of entertainment industry professionals determined the finalists from among more than 150 entries this year.

The seven finalists will receive $500 each to perform a 7-10 minute set at the 2022 Comedy Awards on Saturday, October 22:
