There’s been an explosion of vintage looks in the golf style space over the past year. Whether you’re pulling an old cardigan from the back of the closet, shopping for second-hand clothes, or shopping for vintage-inspired looks from trendy golf brands, there are more options than ever to have fun with the nostalgic golf trends in a modern way. Jones has teamed up with Metalwood, a newcomer to the golf style space that focuses on old-school looks, on a collection designed and inspired by student-athletes and aspiring college golfers. The capsule includes a golf bag, hat, sweatshirt, shorts, and caddy towel to match the fictional colleges invented for the line called Metalwood University and Metalwood State.

A portion of the proceeds from this collection will be donated to the Southern California Golf Association Junior Program, which Metalwood founder Cole Young himself attended before playing Division I golf at Loyola Marymount University. The goal of this donation is to help high school student-athletes in underserved communities gain better access to college coaches and recruiters.

The collection’s carry bags are inspired by 1990s golf bags with a single strap, three-way velor divider and lightweight construction. They’re made with a durable nylon, have a front and back pocket, and the option between Metalwood University red and white or Metalwood State navy and yellow. Jones X Metalwood Caddy co-branded towels are also part of the capsule to match.

On the apparel and accessories side, two pairs of athletic shorts with an elastic waistband and mesh interior emblazoned with the fictional logos of each creative school. The logos are also found on the collection’s crewneck sweaters, with a simple style that really encompasses the old-school collegiate look. To top it off, two 6-panel foam hats. It’s a look that should be paired with a well-thought-out vintage-inspired style, but would look great in casual ensembles on the course.
