Joe Freshgoods is back, but surprisingly not with his usual New Balance family. This time, Joe Freshgoods teams up with the skater brothers at Vans for their next sneaker collaboration. So don’t expect JFG 550s in this go-around.
On June 25, Joe Robinson, better known by his creative alias Joe Freshgoods, took to Instagram to do the usual teaser for his first Vans project.
In his IG post, he revealed perhaps the best looks from his Vans Vault collab — Vans’ premium imprint — including a Style 36 sneaker in three colorways: hot pink, dusty pink and fiery red.
The suede canvas upper of the Joe Freshgoods x Vans Vault Style 36 features Vans’ beloved checkerboard print with the initials “JFG” in the checkered boxes.
It’s also hard to miss Vans’ famous “jazz stripe,” which completes the collaborative shoe in its complementary hues.
A co-branded logo stamps the top of the partnership’s baby pink shoeboxes, like an official handshake confirming the partnership is well underway.
On the side of the sneaker box, you’ll find the phrase, “Everything happens for a reason,” which emphasizes that we’re in for another Joe Freshgoods success story.
Like his New Balance collaborations “Outside Clothes” and “Inside Voices,” Joe Freshgoods always drives its partnerships with a cultural narrative tied to the black experience.
And it looks like JFG’s Vans shoes are no exception, with the common, self-interpreted phrase printed on Joe Freshgoods’ shoebox ready to expand on his next tale.
As usual, there’s no release date, just Joe Freshgoods x Vans Style 36 teasers (for now). But, with previews this good, we may have release details very soon.
