MIAMI – Miami Police released surveillance footage on Friday that shows two men wanted for brutally beating a woman in a hotel room last year.
Police were called to the Miami Marriott Biscayne at 1633 N. Bayshore Drive around 5:30 p.m. on December 31 with reference to a woman who was found unconscious in a hotel room.
While the incident happened six months ago, detectives have exhausted all leads and are asking for help from the community.
Authorities said a hotel employee told officers who responded that the woman, who was a hotel guest, was not out of her room on her due date, prompting them to check his room.
It was then that the woman was found unconscious and severely beaten.
Police said the victim was immediately taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital by Miami firefighters, where she received intensive treatment.
Police are looking for two men they identify as people of interest in the case.
“We hope the video is clear enough that someone can recognize either subject’s face,” said Miami Police Kiara Delva.
One of them was described by police as a white man with a black Mohawk-style haircut. He was last seen wearing a black mask, red shirt, denim jacket, camouflage pants and sneakers.
The second person of interest was described by police as a black man, who was last seen wearing a light-colored hat, white mask, black shirt and black pants.
“You can see the woman who appears to be having some sort of conversation with two subjects in the lobby,” Delva explained of the footage. “A few seconds go by and we see her heading towards the reception area.”
“[They are] people of interest right now, ”Delva added. “We don’t classify them as suspects. We just want to talk to them to see if they have any information.
