Nashville, Tenn. (December 1, 2020) – Nashville Predators president of hockey operations and general manager David Poile today announced that the team has loaned forward Egor Afanasyev to the Russian squad for his selection camp for the 2021 World Junior Championship.
Afanasyev, 19 (01/23/01), will join fellow Predators prospect Iaroslav Askarov (2020 first round pick) and Semyon Chistyakov (2019 fourth round pick) at the camp, to be held in Novogorsk, Russia, until The team will depart for Edmonton on December 13 for pre-tournament exhibitions against Slovakia and Canada. The 6-foot-4 forward has appeared in four KHL games with CSKA Moscow this season, collecting three points (2g-1a), including two (1b-1a) in his professional hockey debut on Nov. 14 against Sochi. .
