Actor R Madhavan is delighted with the silver medal won by his son Vedaant at the Danish Swimming Open in Copenhagen, Denmark. Madhavan’s 16-year-old son clocked 15.57.86 in the men’s 1,500m freestyle to finish in second place on Friday night.

Sharing a video clip of the congratulatory ceremony on his Instagram account, the 51-year-old actor thanked his son’s coach Pradeep Kumar and the Indian Swimming Federation for their support.

“@vedaantmadhavan wins silver for India at Danish Open in Copenhagen. Thank you so much Mr. Pradeep, #swimmingfederationofindia and #ansadxb for all your efforts. We are so proud,” he captioned the post.

Vedaant previously won a bronze medal at the Latvian Open in March 2021 and also impressed at the National Junior Aquatic Championships last year, winning seven medals – four silver and three bronze. At the 2022 Denmark Open, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from April 15-19, India’s top swimmer Sajan Prakash won gold in the men’s 200m butterfly. Competing in his first international competition this year, Prakash stopped the clock at 1m59.27s to take the podium.
