Gerald Anderson

Worried about his impending arrest, a person who admitted to stealing two bags containing valuables belonging to actor Gerald Anderson turned himself in to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

In a statement, the NBI identified the suspect as John Allen Dancel who surrendered on February 7 to the NBI Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU).

The NBI said Dancel surrendered “due to relentless and persistent pursuit operations by NBI agents.”

“Subject Dancel returned one (1) luxury bag belonging to Complainant (Anderson) and stated that he gave a certain Lianny ‘Yhang’ Carlos two (2) valuable watches belonging to Complainant, which were eventually sold for P150,000,” the BNI said.

Dancel was brought before the Quezon City Attorney’s Office on a charge of robbery with force on things in violation of Section 293 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC), he said.

Also in its statement, the NBI said John Louie Rosario aka “Mark Louie” and Isagani Dela Cruz aka “Gani”, both of whom remain at large, were named co-defendants in the lawsuit.

The BNI said:

“According to the Complaint, on January 30, 2022, while Anderson was playing basketball with his friends at his gymnasium located in Quezon City, an individual forced and broke the window of the Complainant’s vehicle parked outside said gymnasium, and took two (2) bags containing the stolen items.

“A day later, a certain individual hacked into Anderson’s account using a certain cell phone number.

“The mobile phone number used in the hack of Anderson’s account belongs to Benjamin Carreon Jr., a resident of Tindalo Street, Barangay 254, Tondo, Manila.

“The investigation by the NBI-SAU revealed that the perpetrators of the theft are a Tondo-Manila group, known for ‘basag kotse.’

“The perpetrators used a black Honda Click motorcycle and a mint green MIO I 125 motorcycle for the theft of plaintiff’s property.”
